The Remnants – From the Place Once Called Earth

Mallistoni sijoittuu hetkeen, jolloin ihmistä ei enää ole olemassa tuntemassamme muodossa.

Aika on kulunut. Sivilisaatio toisensa jälkeen on noussut ja tuhoutunut. Mitä meidän aikakaudestamme on enää jäljellä? Mitkä arvot ja normit tulevat olemaan vallalla?

Kun he katsovat Maata, mitä he näkevät?

Kodin? Vai paikan, jota kerran kansoitti ylimielinen ja kaaokseen hakeutuva, itsetuhoinen laji. Laji, jonka käsitys oikeasta ja väärästä, oli yhtä epävakaa kuin mannerlaattojen liikkeet. Muistetaanko niitä, jotka yrittivät aikaansaada muutosta, vai onko historia sumentunut, jättäen jälkeensä vain ne kaikki suurimmat hirmuteot.

Eksistentiaalinen kriisi, joka heijastuu suoraan malliston tarinaan.

Minulle tärkeitä asioita ovat jatkuva kehittyminen eettisyyden rajoissa muita kunnioittaen. Uuden oppiminen ja pyrkimys ymmärtää ympäröivää maailmaa ajavat minua eteenpäin. Ne kannustavat tähtäämään korkealle ja antamaan kaikkensa. Ja niinä hetkinä, kun epäilen omia valintojani, kaivan esille luonnoskirjastani aikajanan, joka yltää sadan triljoonan vuoden päähän. Se auttaa minua palauttamaan perspektiivin elämään. Pienet arkipäivän ongelmat menettävät merkityksensä, kun katsoo kokonaisuutta.

Tämä on parasta, mihin tällä hetkellä pystyn. Silti en ole tyytyväinen. En koskaan. Mutta se ajaa minua eteenpäin ja motivoi kehittämään taitojani. Se tarkoittaa sitä, että minulla on hyvä syy jatkaa.

My collection sets in the time when the humankind no longer exists in the way we know it today.

The time has passed. Civilization one after another has risen and been destroyed. What is left from our era? What are the values and standards that influence that time?

When they look at Earth, what will they see?

A Home? Or a place that was once populated by an arrogant and self-destructive species. A Species whose concept of right and wrong were as unstable as the movement of tectonic plates. Will the ones that tried to make a difference be remembered? Or will only the most horrifying atrocities be left in the history?

The existential crisis that reflects to the collection.

Continuing progress in ethical boundaries is an important basis in my personal life and work. I have a compelling need to learn and understand the world around that keeps me going. They encourage me to strive harder and to aim high. And in the times I question my choices, I take a look to the timeline I attached to my research book. The timeline takes it all the way to one hundred quintillion years from now. It helps me to get the perspective right. The small, everyday problems lose their meaning when you look at the big picture.

This is the very best I can do at the moment. Still, I’m not satisfied. I will never be. But that is the one thing motivating and pushing me further. It means that I have a reason to continue.
